Serbia went to the 2010 World Cup as "dark horses" and sadly never quite lived up to the tag. Their first appearance at a tournament as Serbia will probably be remembered as much for this staggeringly good jersey as much as the team which played. Serbia's first jersey was a plain red design with a little trim but this cross emblazoned design makes for a much more memorable effort. Perhaps this finding of a distinctive kit will lead to a clear footballing identity in the same way the red and white checkerboard did for neighbours, Croatia.
