Way back in the early 90s St Mirren were one of the first British clubs to go with an all black away shirt. It got a the club a very modest amount of notoriety as the shirt became somewhat trendy in it's own way outside the burgh of Paisley. It was a very smart looking shirt apart from the big black rubber plate on the chest for the sponsor and I'd have dearly loved one but I was a penniless schoolboy and my paper round money wouldn't run to it. I later picked up the home shirt but I'd have preferred the away one. I was delighted 20 years later to find that Hummel had come up with a sleek all black away shirt. The gold detailing works well with the black and the materiel used in the shirt is a real step forward for Hummel.
