Croatia arguably have the most recognisable shirts in international football, and one of the most popular. I was under the impression that the adoption of the checkered design from the Croatian flag as the shirt design was Lotto's idea but I have been corrected by Pero who sent me an email which put me right. Apparently the Croats wore a similar shirt in a match against the USA in 1990 when Yugoslavia was in the midst of falling apart. Thanks for the info Pero. This particular jersey is from the 2000 Euro Championships.
