Like the club of Palmeiras in Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte's Cruzeiro was founded by Italian immigrants to Brazil. The club, which shares a name with a district of the city of Belo Horizonte, has won South America's premier tournament - the Copa Libertadores- twice as commemorated on the sleeve of this shirt. Cruzeiro, which means "cross" in Portuguese carry the Southern Cross on the badge. This is another fantastic shirt sent to me by my friend from Brazil, Bira.
