Queen of the South were the first club as far as I know to come up with the idea of a sponsorship lottery. Rather than convince one company to stump up the whole amount they sold tickets for a smaller amount to several local organisations and drew a winner to be the sponsor for the upcoming season. This led to some strange sponsors like Open University and even Dumfries and Borders Police! Matchwinner made a lot of shirts for lower profile clubs in the late 80s and 90s and they were pretty good for the period. I really like the design of this shirt. The blue diagonal faded stripes break up what would otherwise be a really dull white away shirt.
